The water in Crystal Lake is cold, even in summer, with temperatures averaging around 50–60°F (10–15°C). Swimming is most popular in July and August when the weather is warmer.
Parking is available at the Crystal Lake Trailhead, which is located just off the road from Ouray. During peak season, parking can be limited, so early arrival is recommended.
There are no restrooms directly at the lake, but facilities are available at the trailhead. Be sure to bring enough water and supplies for your hike.
Accessibility Features: The lake is accessible via hiking trails, but the terrain is steep and challenging, so it's not wheelchair accessible.
