Overview


Pyramid Lake, located in western Nevada, is a large, shallow lake known for its unique geological features and striking scenery. Situated about 30 miles northeast of Reno, Pyramid Lake is the largest desert lake in the United States.

The lake covers an area of 125,000 acres and is famous for its blue water and picturesque limestone formations, including the iconic Pyramid Rock, which sits at the northern tip of the lake.

Although the lake is situated in a desert region, it supports a range of aquatic life, including Lahontan cutthroat trout, making it a popular destination for fishing. The lake is also known for recreational boating, kayaking, and swimming, attracting visitors from all over the region.
